Terms of Service

1. The service

Shukra Dev shows the panchang, graha gochar, festivals and related almanac information. Acharya's Desk is a workspace for jyotishis to keep clients, kundlis, dashas, notes, appointments and research. We may add, change or remove features over time.

2. Your account

• You must be 18 or older and give accurate information.
• Keep your password and devices secure. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
• One account is for one practice. Tell us at once if you think your account has been misused.

3. Plans, offers and payment

• Plans and their prices are shown on the Plans page and are billed yearly.
• Standard Practice and Practice + Research are free for a practice's first year. After that, a paid plan is needed to keep using paid features.
• Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan offers apply only after we approve a request, for the period we approve, and may be extended at our discretion.
• Before you pay, we will show the price, taxes (such as GST) and the refund policy. We may change prices for future periods after giving you notice.

4. Your data and content

You own the information you enter, including your clients' records and your notes. You give us permission to store, process, copy and display it as needed to run the service for you.

You also allow us to anonymise data on the service, so that it no longer identifies anyone, and to use the anonymised data for research and to build, train and improve AI models and features, as described in our Privacy Policy. Data from Google (sign-in and Google Calendar) is never used for AI training.

When you enter information about other people, you confirm that you are allowed to do so and that you have told them how it will be used, including the anonymised use above, and have their consent where the law requires it.

5. Astrology and accuracy

Jyotish is a traditional system of interpretation. Calculations on the service use standard astronomical methods and settings you choose, and we work to keep them accurate, but we do not guarantee that every calculation, time or date is free of error. Predictions and remedies are the astrologer's own guidance. Nothing on the service is medical, legal, financial or psychological advice, and it should not replace a qualified professional. You are responsible for the advice you give your clients.

6. Acceptable use

Do not:

• Break the law, or use the service to harass, defraud or mislead anyone.
• Enter data about people without the right to do so.
• Try to break, overload or get around the security or limits of the service, or access another person's account.
• Copy, resell or scrape the service or its data, or use it to build a competing product, without our written permission.

7. Other services

Some features use other services, such as Google sign-in and Google Calendar. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for them.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the service available and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is". It may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control. Keep your own copies of anything important.

9. Ending

You can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it. When an account is closed, its data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Our liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions made using the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Indemnity

You agree to cover our losses from claims by others that arise from information you entered without the right to do so, or from your breach of these terms.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be decided by the courts of India.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. We will change the date above, and tell you in the app or by email before an important change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
